Now that you’re engaged what better way to get the word out than by having a celebration with your family and friends! Here are some great engagement party themes and ideas.

• Wine and Dine Theme: If you and your fiance enjoy the finer side of life, treat your guests to a night out on the town and throw your soiree at a restaurant or comedy club. Want to bring the high life to your home? Have a wine tasting night and have each guest bring a bottle of wine.  To make it more interesting, mask the bottle labels and have each participant rate the wines.  Afterwards, see which bottle scored the best with your group.

• Backyard Barbeque Theme: Want something a bit more casual and intimate? Throw your engagement party in your own backyard and serve hamburgers, hot dogs, or barbeque.  Have each guest bring a side dish to complete the pot luck style dinner and have tunes from your ipod floating through the yard. This idea is great for the spring and fall seasons when the weather is most formidable.

• Destination Theme:  Maybe you want to show off your adventurous side to your loved ones, and what better way to do this than by having a destination engagement party? Find a good party spot at your favorite beach and set up a game of beach volleyball or have a bonfire when the sun goes down.  Not a fan of the sand? Celebrate lakeside with a picnic and provide jet skis and canoes for your guests. Are you and your hubby sports fanatics? Have your party at your favorite sports arena and cheer on your team.  Not only will you be celebrating their victory, but your upcoming nuptials as well.
