04 Jun Ultra Romantic Pale Pink Wedding by Blaine Siesser Photography
Welcome to Real Wedding Wednesday! Today’s feature is ultra romantic, ultra soft, and ultra feminine. Dan and Lauren tied the knot last summer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dearborn, Michigan, and hosted their reception at The Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township. Lauren went with a color palate of pale pinks, and ivories, with a hint of purple, and drew inspiration from her favorite celebrity weddings (nod to Jessica Simpson and Hillary Duff). Our favorite luxe details include the brides jeweled embellished tulle gown, her lush floral bouquet of roses adorned with a ‘something blue’ brooch, and this 6-layer cake dripping with sparkles galore. So dig right in because we know you’ll gather lots of inspiration from this Ultra Romantic Pale Pink Wedding by Blaine Siesser Photography.

SB: When and where did you get married?
BB: We were married on August 4, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dearborn, MI. Our reception was held at The Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township.
SB: Did you have a specific color palate?
BB: My color palate consisted of pale pink, cream, and a hint of purple
SB: How did you decide on your style and where did you draw inspiration from?
BB: My vision for my wedding was very romantic and feminine. I wanted to incorporate a lot of champagne and blush tones to evoke a very soft and romantic atmosphere. I drew inspiration from a few celebrity weddings I had seen over the years, mainly Jessica Simpson and Hillary Duff’s gorgeous weddings. I fell in love with the style of their weddings and tried to incorporate the same color palates and delicate details into my own.
SB: Where did you get your dreamy gown? Can you describe it for us?
BB: I purchased my gown at the Macy’s Bridal Salon in Troy, MI. It was an ivory, strapless, fit and flare, tulle gown with jewel embellishments at the neckline. I knew it was the one as soon as I tried it on.
SB: What about your bridesmaids dresses? What did you like best about them?
BB: Since our wedding was in August and I wanted to create a soft and romantic style, I chose a pale pink chiffon gown in two different styles. I wanted the bridesmaids to be comfortable in the hot and humid weather so I picked a light and flowy fabric. What I liked best was that there was a little variation in the styles. Half of my bridesmaids wore a strapless sweetheart neckline and the other half wore a one-shoulder style.
SB: What special traditions did you incorporate?
BB: As far as special traditions go, we had a full Catholic mass officiated by my uncle who is a priest. That was very special for me. Several of our family members participated in the mass as readers, Eucharistic ministers, and gift bearers. At the reception, both my parents and Dan’s parents gave toasts prior to the meal. We had the traditional first dance, father/daughter, mother/son, and bridal party dances. Later in the evening, Dan’s 90 year old grandfather played his saxophone with our band which was fantastic and so memorable for us and our guests.
SB: What was your favorite moment of the day?
BB: It’s hard to pick a favorite moment-the whole day was incredible. The most exciting moment for me was probably when the doors opened at the church just prior to my dad and I walking down the aisle. Hearing the music of the string trio, seeing all of my family and friends smiling, and walking towards my husband-to-be was a magical moment. I was on cloud nine.
SB: Any advise for our soon-to-be brides and grooms? Is there anything you’d do differently if you could do it again?
BB: As far as advice for soon-to-be brides and grooms, soak up every moment and have as much fun as you can. It’s the only day when you’ll have all of your friends and family together in one room, celebrating your love. It was the happiest day of our lives.
SB: What are three words that sum up the day?
BB: Three words that some up the day would be exciting, beautiful, and fun 🙂 The fourth would be hot-as in 92 degrees!
