25 Jun Summer Flowers: Thistle
Have you heard of Thistle? It’s a favorite flower of mine. It’s blue color is striking, yet muted. Unique, no? I love the rustic element that it adds to bridal bouquets, and it makes an especially cute boutonniere! My love for thistle grew when I heard a story about it’s tradition with the Scottish. It’s the inspiration for the song, “Thistle O’ Scotland,” which uses the plant as a metaphor for the prickly determination of the Scots! If you are looking for meaning behind your wedding flowers, then hold the thistle to your heart as a flower that will predict sheer determination in your marriage!
