These high-school sweethearts (and smarty-pants – both now work at Google) exchanged vows at The Gardens at Peacock Farms in Arroyo Grande, California.  This savvy and stylish bride first fell in love with her bridesmaid’s gowns before settling with a blush & gray garden theme; which wasn’t difficult to achieve with this stunning floral-filled venue!  The bridal party was lovely in blush gowns embellished in crystal beaded detail (side note: these were actually prom dresses!), and carried simple baby’s breath bouquets.  The groomsmen were dashing in dark grey summer suiting and baby’s breath boutonnieres.  The bride herself wore a gorgeous strapless sweetheart gown with tulle ball gown pick-up skirt and showcased not 1, but 2 pairs of pretty pumps.  Guests also enjoyed their cake and ate it too (quite literally!) with not 1, not 2, but 8 flavors total from Madonna Inn.  This beautiful affair was captured perfectly by Looking Glass Photography Studio.  Now, let the pinning begin!

{Q&A WITH THE BEAUTIFUL BRIDE}

SB: How you meet?
BB: We met in high school, we’ve been dating for over 9 years now 🙂
SB: What’s your proposal story?
BB: We were in Carmel California, spent the entire day wine tasting and walking around downtown, then we went on the beach to watch the sunset and Mike proposed!
SB: When and where did you get married?
BB: June 21st 2014 at the Peacock Gardens in Arroyo Grande CA
SB: Did you have a specific color palate?
BB: I did not have a specific color palate in mind (I had about 5) which is why I decided to look for the bridesmaid dresses first and decide after that!
SB: How did you decide on your style and where did you draw inspiration from?
BB: Inspiration came from the bridesmaid dresses! I knew once I found the perfect bridesmaid dresses (didn’t matter which color) I could build around that, and of course I wanted a “floral” venue so it did a lot of the work for me!
SB: Where did you get your dreamy gown? Can you describe it for us?
BB: Wedding dress came from “Trudy’s Bridal” in Campbell CA who was absolutely amazing at helping me (I think this was the hardest part for me)
SB: What about your bridesmaids dresses? What did you like best about them?
BB: Dresses came from “Group USA” and they were not official bridesmaid dresses, they were actually prom dresses! I liked that they did not look like typical “bridesmaid” dresses, they looked pretty unique
SB: What special traditions did you incorporate?
BB: I incorporated the “something blue, something new, something old” in my day, I also didn’t see Mike the night before up until I walked down the aisle.
SB: What was your favorite moment of the wedding day?
BB: Most memorable moments would be my dad’s speech, the bridal room getting ready (love my girls), and cutting the inside of my dress off because I was so hot! and yes – I actually cut my 3k dress up – wish I had done it even earlier!
SB: Any advise for our soon-to-be brides and grooms? Is there anything you’d do differently if you could do it again?
BB: I work a lot of hours so for me it was all about convenience! Find a venue that most if not all of the work! I kept a “master doc” that had all the vendor contact information, due dates for payments, to-do lists, etc – I only wished I had allowed an additional 10% buffer in my budget considering all the little things that added up last minute!
SB: What are three words that sum up the day?
BB: Finally (because we had been dating for so long), Family (I consider all my friends family as well) and Party! (I made sure to offer champagne before the ceremony and kept the ceremony to 10 min – half of my guests thanked me for that 🙂 – all about fun after we ended the ceremony!)
