22 Sep A Do-it-Yourself Bride Sets Sail with a Nautical Themed Wedding
After meeting six years prior, Tommy romantically proposed to Nikki on a private plane. The love birds tied the knot at the Filter Building on White Rock Lake and the celebration was truly a family affair. The bride’s brother built the arch under which the couple said their vows, and the guests’ favors were family cookbooks crafted by the bride. Nikki, owner of Doodle Dog Advertising, described her wedding day as ‘casual vintage with a touch of nautical flair’. “After designing so many other peoples’ wedding materials… I wanted to do everything myself!”, said Nikki. And what a jaw-dropping job she did! Soft flowers in water tones designed by Branching Out adorned the candle lit tables during the reception. Keeping things fun and casual, the couple opted for a mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream cake by Cakes by Design. To say the least, this intimate lakeside wedding had the perfect blend of DIY style, sophistication and bespoke charm.
